Landsea R&D Base in Changxing is located on the shore of Taihu Lake in Changxing County of Huzhou in Zhejiang Province. Adjacent to Changxing Station along the Ningbo-Hangzhou Inter-city Rail, it covers 60 Chinese mu (4 hectares). Aimed at becoming the best green building R&D base in China and a leading one in the world, it has the Architecture Laboratory Building, Conference Center, Brooke Passive Hotel and Artificial Climate Room, etc. As part of the “Green Building Extension & Demo Base in East China”, Landsea R&D Base in Changxing is now becoming a platform of exchange, collaborative R&D, discussions about innovation and integrated application for green building industry and association.

Brooke passive house:
Brooke passive house has about 2,500m2 of floor space, it is fixed as a green boutique hotel. It has 52 hotel rooms of all kinds, including 48 standard rooms and 4 suites. The hotel can basically meet normal needs for accommodation and reception.
Brooke passive house adopts advanced passive house architecture technologies from Europe. In collaboration with the German Passive House Institute and Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH, it is the first passive house project in China designed and built in the hot-summer and cold-winter region.
The collaboration has introduced the advanced technologies and concepts of passive houses from Germany. Considering the climate features of the Yangtze River Delta, it has made adaptability adjustment and innovative research in the region. As the first passive house project in the region, it has adopted the design and construction standards of the hot-summer and cold-winter region.
